Homemade beef jerky is delicious. The problem is it takes
forever to make. But I've got a Mad Genius tip
that's gonna teach you how to make it super quick.
[MUSIC] |I'm starting with flank steak because it's lean, and
lean is always better for beef jerky. So I'm gonna
put it right onto a sheet of parchment paper and
put another one on top because we're going to pound
it really thin which is going to help it cook
because the trick here is we're going to do it
in the microwave and it's going to take anywhere from
five to eight minutes. All right lay your other sheet
of parchment on top. Go ahead and take your meat
mallet and just, [SOUND] Beat it softly but gently, in
words of Lauren Hill. [SOUND] Okay, I think we're good.
Go ahead and peel off the parchment and now I'm
gonna go ahead and transfer it into either a glass
bowl or a baking dish. Okay, some kosher salt. [MUSIC]
And lots of freshly ground black pepper. And I'm gonna
add just about a tablespoon of low-sodium soy sauce. Give
it a good mix Then we're gonna pop this in
the refrigerator for anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.
Once your flank steak is marinated, you're gonna go ahead
and get a large microwaveable safe plate like this one
here, and put a couple layers of paper towels right
on top. And then spread your flank steak evenly on
top of paper towel. You could see that the soy
sauce kind of added this Beautiful color to the meat
and into the microwave for about six to eight minutes
and I'm going to change the paper towel and turn
the flank steak a couple times during cooking. Okay, I
want you to check this out because it's halfway there
and you can see it looks a little weird but
don't be a alarmed. Because when it's done it's gonna
dry, it's gonna get really chewy, and it's gonna be
super delicious. So, I'm just gonna go ahead and transfer
it onto a separate paper towel, a new paper towel,
a clean paper towel. And, I'm gonna go ahead and
slide it right back onto my plate. [MUSIC] And pop
it in for another couple of minutes. All right let
the beef jerky cool because I like to be interesting
I'm going to go ahead and serve it in a
glass, just like this. Pile it up, put it out
on the table, there you have it. In no time
at all I made delicious home made beef jerky in
a microwave [INAUDIBLE] [MUSIC]
