Poached eggs is one of those things that people really get intimidated by, you think you have to swirl it, you think you have to add vinegar to the water. You really don't, you want to bring your salted water to a really gentle boil, crack your egg into a really small bowl. Lower the bowl and turn it over and let the egg fall slowly into the simmering water. It'll come together, you don't have to do anything else.
