Make your cake last longer with the right cutting technique.
I love cake so much that I don't wanna see any of it go to waste. So I'm gonna teach you the neatest way to keep it fresher longer. [MUSIC] The way we're gonna keep the cake fresh is we're gonna actually cut it into bars from the center out rather than cutting it into wedges. I'm actually gonna use some unscented dental floss to cut my cake. So I'm just gonna Take off a nice large piece here. The reason I like to this is because it gives you these really clean cuts. Start just off center, give it a nice cut. Go ahead and pull dental floss through just like that. We're gonna do a very similar cut about an inch or an inch and a half from the other one. Before we get to pulling out our slices, we're gonna need to do one horizontal slice all the way across the cake this way. And I'm gonna go ahead and use an off-set spatula to take out my first slice. And this is a big cake, because I like big slices. Gigantic, Mount Everest slice of cake. Put it right onto a plate. And we're gonna go ahead and spin it around. Whoa, whoa [LAUGH]. Normally, when you cut a cake into wedges and you pop it into the refrigerator, you have all this exposed area that dries out. By cutting it from the inside out, we can then take our knife or our spatula, and kind of slide Cake together. And now we can have our cake and we can save it for later, too. [MUSIC]
