A waterfront spot tucked away among the fishing docks of Cape Porpoise, The Ramp oozes charm with its vintage sports memorabilia and wood planked ceiling and floors. The lobster is so fresh that you can reach out the window and basically touch the trap it was caught in. I always default to ordering the lobster roll because it's hands down the best around—and a margarita or two doesn’t hurt! 77 Pier Rd, Kennebunkport; pier77restaurant.com.

This restaurant, overseen by consulting chef Ken Oringer of Boston’s Toro, is beautifully rustic yet upscale. You can't go wrong with the salads from their garden or local fish dishes, which truly shine here. 354 Goose Rocks Rd, Kennebunkport; earthathiddenpond.com.

We love to drop by this classic beach candy shop to pick-up homemade fudge, along with a bag of Swedish Fish and Cow Tales to enjoy as we stroll around the town. It’s the perfect candy shop for kids of all ages. Yes to sugar on vacation! 20 Dock Square, Kennebunkport.

I love to eat the fresh oysters and prawns with a great glass of Sauvignon Blanc while taking in the beautiful view of the water from the restaurant's wrap around deck. You might even score an ex-President sighting or two! 21 Ocean Ave, Kennebunkport; boathouseme.com.

The must-visit spot to grab all the essentials before heading out for a day at the beach like delicious hoagies (top yours with their hot pepper relish), kettle chips and cream sodas. Make sure to snag a whoopie pie for a late afternoon treat. 200 Sea Rd, Kennebunk; bennetts-store.com.

Street and Company

I wait all year to get to this unforgettable Portland restaurant that's bathed in a soft amber glow with old barn plank floors and an open kitchen. My go-to dish is their lobster diavolo. Delicious! Other must-haves include their sole Francaise and knockout pecan pie. 33 Wharf St, Portland; streetandcompany.net.
