The Mexican Pizza isn't coming back, though.

Though it ranks pretty low on the list of 2020 problems, the fact that Taco Bell changed its menu up this year definitely didn't sit well with some of the Mexican fast food chain's most ardent fans. A bunch of favorites seemed to be disappearing without much hope of a meaningful replacement, to the disappointment of many. Heck, a petition to save the Mexican Pizza is closing in on 150,000 signatures as we speak.

Well, the good news is that Taco Bell is in fact adding mas items to its menu after all. From chicken to chalupas to nachos, the Bell is back with new items available both nationwide and for tests in particular markets.

Perhaps most significantly is this week's introduction of the Toasted Cheddar Chalupa Box. Its namesake item takes a deep-fried Toasted Cheddar Chalupa shell, filled with your choice of black beans, beef, grilled chicken, or marinated steak adorned with sour cream, lettuce, cheddar, and tomato. The box pairs that with a hard shell taco, medium drink, and Cinnamon Twists. For those stretching their dollar further, Chipotle Chicken Melt's permanent addition to the Cravings Value Menu should be welcome news. Combining white meat grilled chicken with chipotle sauce and cheddar cheese, it's all rolled up and served in a flour tortilla for just a buck.

For those lucky enough to lie in certain southeastern cities, it looks like Taco Bell will be trying out some new items in your area. Houstonians get the Double Steak Grilled Cheese Burrito, which doubles up on both seasoned rice and marinated steak, stuffing those along with chipotle and nacho cheese sauces, crunchy red strips, sour cream, and a three-cheese blend inside a flour tortilla. If you're not a coward when it comes to spice, you can add some grilled jalapeños on top as well. Last but not least, Atlanta and Nashville get some Loaded Nachos, which pile refried beans, nacho cheese sauce, a three-cheese blend, sour cream, tomatoes, and guac on top of crunchy tortilla chips.

In case you needed any cajoling to try some of these new items (or maybe just to appease their frustrated fans), Taco Bell is running a BOGO deal on the Toasted Cheddar Chalupa Box. You just have to order for delivery through Uber Eats between now and November 15 to score the deal, which should be available at any of the 4,700 Taco Bells the delivery service covers across the country. It should also be noted that everything besides the Chicken Chipotle Melt is being billed as a limited time menu item.

So is the Mexican Pizza coming back? No— or at least not yet. Hopefully some of these new items can at least pique your interest and help you truly live mas during these strange times.
