How to Get $179 Flights to Hawaii Right Now
The holidays arrived early this year.
On Tuesday, Hawaiian Airlines gave us all an early holiday present: cheap flights to Hawaii for $179.
Travelers will have to act quick to take advantage of the sale, however, as the special one-way fares are only valid for flights booked between December 5 and 7. Trips must be taken between January 16 and March 15, 2018.
In addition to the $179 tickets (available from San Francisco and San Jose), there are also $189 flights to Hawaii from Oakland, and $199 flights from San Jose, Oakland, and San Diego — the latter of which went on sale Monday to celebrate the airline's new San Diego to Maui route.
“We are delighted to offer travelers more options to visit our islands next summer,” Hawaiian's executive vice president and COO, Peter Ingram, said in a statement.
Hawaiian is using new Airbus A321neo airplanes for the daily non-stop service from San Diego. The fleet of narrow-body, energy-efficient aircraft will feature signature Hawaiian-style interiors, like LED mood lighting meant to evoke Big Island sunrises and textiles inspired by kapa bark cloth and fishing net.
All guests, regardless of cabin, will enjoy complimentary meals and local snacks (though the premium cabin will be outfitted with leather recliners).
The airline is also increasing seasonal service, adding new flights to the Hawaiian Islands from San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, and Narita, Japan.
To book a steeply discounted one-way ticket with Hawaiian Airlines (we wouldn’t blame you for never coming back), sale tickets must be purchased by December 7. The new San Diego to Maui route is on sale until December 11, though travel dates are only available between May 1 and 24.
Even if you’re not based in San Francisco, travelers can still look forward to ever-dropping airfare to the Aloha State. As Hawaiian increases service (and other airlines, like Southwest, enter the market) stiff competition will make flights to Hawaii cheaper than ever.
