The Most Ridiculous New Fast Food Menu Items of 2018

These colorful, bite-size donuts were released for a limited time in August and taste exactly like the classic sugary breakfast cereal.

POPEYES' GOLD-DUSTED CHICKEN
KFC'S WAFFLE DOUBLE DOWN
The KFC Double Down—a breakfast sandwich that has two pieces of fried chicken in lieu of a bun—is one of the most iconic fast food innovations of all time. This year, KFC in Canada took it to the next level by putting a whole belgian waffle smothered in maple aioli in the middle.
CHILI'S BOSS BURGER
This 1,650 calorie burger is not for the faint of heart. The bottom bun is smothered in BBQ sauce and ranch, and then topped with lettuce, tomato, a beef patty and cheddar cheese. Next, the burger is loaded with four other meats—brisket, pulled ribs, jalapeño sausage, and bacon—before being completed with a top bun.
BURGER KING'S 'NIGHTMARE KING'
Another meat on meat on meat situation: BK's green bun burger, released in October for Halloween, features a quarter-pound of beef, a crispy chicken fillet, melted American cheese, thick-cut bacon, mayonnaise and onions on a glazed green sesame seed bun.
DUNKIN'S COSMIC COOLATTAS
Taking a page from Starbucks' unicorn frappuccinos from 2017, Dunkin released these "galaxy-inspired" colorful frozen beverages in April, along with a matching donut.
PANERA'S DOUBLE BREAD BOWL
For the indecisive carb loader, the fast-casual chain tested these in July at their Philadelphia locations, letting customers mix and match two different soup or mac-and-cheese options in the same loaf of bread.
OLIVE GARDEN'S LOADED PASTA CHIPS
Lightly fried pasta dough is topped with meat sauce, three Italian cheeses, Alfredo sauce and hot peppers in this nacho-like dish, which debuted in February.
IHOP'S GRINCH PANCAKES
In tandem with the new Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch movie, the breakfast chain released these bright green pancakes with red candy Grinch hearts (and a matching hot chocolate option).
