Because there’s a limited season for the fruit on the East Coast, she uses blood orange marmalade instead, combining it with sherry vinegar to make this cocktail. Ingredients

  • 2 ounces vodka, preferably wheat

  • 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice

  • 1 tablespoon blood orange marmalade

  • 1/4 ounce Simple Syrup

  • 1/2 teaspoon sherry vinegar

  • Ice

  • 1 ounce chilled club soda

  • 1 blood orange wheel, for garnish

Directions

  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine the vodka, lemon juice, marmalade, Simple Syrup and vinegar. Fill the shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into a chilled ice-filled collins glass, stir in the club soda and garnish.
