Soaking golden raisins helps plump them up; they add a hit of acid to chef Hillary Sterling’s rich Confit Kugel Wedges, but use them to top any dish that needs a little extra flavor.
Bring all ingredients to a boil in a saucepan over medium-high. Remove from heat; let cool to room temperature.
Drain raisins, and discard liquid. Chill, covered, until ready to use, up to 1 week.
