The dough is currently rising but I didn't want the yummy taste to influence my rating because this recipe really needs some help. There are some ingredients (butter) that show the full amount needed and then separate the portions, but the pumpkin is separated into 2 ingredients, which is a huge recipe no-no. I started out putting 3 tablespoons of pumpkin into my dough, shocked that it was so little. Cooks will scroll back and forth between instructions and ingredients, so putting them 'in order' of use doesn't make sense, especially when other ingredients were done right.
In addition, the same problem exists with the 2nd butter ingredient. Since butter is already divided up, why have another butter ingredient later on? The only way this approach works is if there are clear subsections of ingredients (dough, swirl) which was not done.
My dough had started to rise as I read back through and found the extra pumpkin ingredient so I left my dinner to get cold while I frantically tried to do the math of 'what is 2 cups minus 3 tablespoons' (thank goodness for Alexa) and now its rising again. I am hoping this is a super tasty recipe that just needs help organizationally and structurally, but I'll have to wait and see.Read More
