Presbyterian's Aversion

John Coltharp has tried making ginger-and-rye drinks with scores of different amari (herbal, bittersweet Italian liqueurs). This version, which uses citrusy Averna amaro, is one of his favorites: "It's great with buttery desserts or stinky cheese." Classic Cocktail Recipes

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all of the remaining ingredients except the club soda and garnish; shake well. Strain into an ice-filled collins glass, stir in the club soda and garnish with the lime wedge.
