Lowland Toddy

Mixologist John deBary uses ginger syrup and licorice tea to create this mocktail rendition of his Scotch whisky-based toddy. Slideshows:  More Warming Drink Recipes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 ounce Ginger Syrup

  • 1 licorice tea bag

  • 4 dried chamomile flowers or 1 chamomile tea bag

  • 1 rosemary sprig

  • 8 ounces boiling water

  • 1 lemon wedge

Directions

  1. In a warmed mug or heatproof glass, combine the Ginger Syrup, licorice tea bag, chamomile flowers and rosemary sprig. Pour the boiling water on top and let steep for 5 minutes. Press the liquid from the tea bag and remove the bag, the chamomile flowers and the rosemary sprig. Squeeze the lemon wedge over the drink and drop it in.
