McCarthy Published on December 3, 2021 Print Rate It Share Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: Eva Kolenko Active Time: 5 mins Total Time: 5 mins Servings: 1 Ingredients 3 tablespoons (1 1/2 ounce) Irish whiskey (preferably Tullamore D.E.W.) 1 tablespoon (1/2 ounce) fresh lemon juice (from 1 lemon) 1 tablespoon (1/2 ounce) Honey Syrup (see Note) ¼ cup cup (2 ounces) ginger beer Basil sprig Directions Place whiskey, lemon juice, and Honey Syrup in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Place lid on shaker; shake vigorously, and strain into a tall glass filled with ice. Top with ginger beer, and stir briefly. Garnish with a basil sprig tapped lightly against the hand first to release its essential oils. Note Honey Syrup (makes 4 ounces): Stir together 1/4 cup honey and 1/4 cup near-boiling water in a small heatproof bowl or glass until dissolved. Let cool to room temperature before using.
