Equal parts gin and aquavit make for a super-aromatic cocktail, balanced by spicy ginger beer, fresh lemon juice, and Thai basil. The strong caraway notes in the aquavit pair well with the earthy ginger beer, and the lemon juice and gin add brightness perfect for a refreshing end-of-summer drink.
1 1/2 ounces (3 tablespoons) Green Hat Gin
1 1/2 ounces (3 tablespoons) aquavit (such as Krogstad)
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Ginger beer (about 3 ounces)
1 Thai basil sprig
How to Make It
Combine gin, aquavit, and lemon juice in a Collins glass, and fill glass with crushed ice. Stir to combine and chill. Top with ginger beer, and garnish with basil.
