Review Body: My mom was 100% Hungarian and she made this salad except she used regular white vinegar. Also, just before serving, she would mix in about a tablespoon of sour cream. Very refreshing!

Review Body: One of my favorite variations on this came from the time I was living in Ukraine. Made with cabbage, cucumbers, sweet onion, fresh dill, a little vinegar and sunflower oil. The cabbage is salted and then "kneaded" to break it down a little before adding the other ingredients. I spent many weekends eating this salad along with shashlik kabobs at dachas in the country side!
