How to Make It
In a medium pot, bring the cabbage, water, vinegar, sugar, caraway seed, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper to a simmer. Cook, covered, until the cabbage is tender, about 20 minutes. Uncover the pot and simmer until most of the liquid has evaporated, about 5 minutes more. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve.
