Fallon / Bloomberg via Getty Images If you're anything like me — which, if you like food, you probably are — you could easily spend hours perusing Whole Foods and thinking about what new items you should try out. But also, if you're anything like me, you probably don't have the time to stick around and read every product description or the grocery budget to give in to every little thing that catches your attention. That's where we come in: Every month we'll be trying out all of Whole Foods' latest products, including their own "365" brand items as well as any other exciting releases, to see what items are actually worth your time and money. This month, their big focus is on the new, limited-edition 365 by Whole Foods Market Breakfast All Day Collection which, for a breakfast-loving gal like me, is very exciting. You'll also notice there are a bunch of frozen products that are perfect to stock up on for warmer days ahead. Read on to discover my picks for your shopping cart this May. 01 of 10 Matcha Green Tea Granola Courtesy of Whole Foods This matcha green tea granola has been a very welcome addition to my morning yogurt. Delightful on its own, but even better as a topping, I've been enjoying it with plain greek yogurt, walnuts, chia seeds, and a touch of honey. As advertised, it does indeed taste like matcha which means it's not as sweet as a lot of prepackaged granola and even skews a little savory with a rich, earthy flavor, perfect for someone like me who prefers a little less sugar in the a.m. If you do like a bit of sweetness first thing, they also have Vietnamese Coffee granola that's made with real coffee for an extra jolt. 02 of 10 Chorizo Breakfast Taco Flavored Tortilla Chips Courtesy of Whole Foods I am a big chip connoisseur if I do say so myself, so these new chips were the product I was most intrigued by from the breakfast collection and they did not disappoint! Though they may look like your average Doritos, the chips leave the cheesy triangles in the dust when it comes to flavor. Like their well-known brethren, they do have a hint of cheese but the predominant flavor is a smoky, meaty chorizo taste coupled with a real tortilla texture and a hint of spice that makes them feel heartier and, dare I say, closer to the actual breakfast item they're trying to emulate rather than a greasy snack. That depth of flavor is dangerous though, as it makes it way easier to devour an entire bag in one sitting. 03 of 10 Cinnamon Roll Milk Chocolate Bites Courtesy of Whole Foods These chocolate bites are a perfect little truffle-like treat. The milk chocolate shell is unassuming but it encases a spectacular cinnamon and cream cheese filling that perfectly captures the joy and texture of the icing on the classic pastry. And let's be honest: the cream cheese icing is the best part of any cinnamon roll. 04 of 10 Levain Bakery Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Cookie Courtesy of Whole Foods Though Levain Bakery has branched out beyond its original West 74th Street store in NYC, it's still a largely east coast operation which is why these cookies are truly a blessing for those of you that can't easily get them when the mood strikes. The newest of the Levain flavors to make it to Whole Foods, this freezer-aisle version of their dark chocolate peanut butter chip cookies (the best flavor in my humble opinion) comes with eight servings that can easily be popped in the oven, and then into your mouth, in minutes. They are a lot smaller than the IRL bakery versions but given how decadent they are, that's not necessarily a bad thing. 05 of 10 Organic Apricot Bellini Italian Soda Courtesy of Whole Foods I love a good Italian soda and this one is especially great because it's so versatile. Scoop a bottle up for your next brunch and you can serve it on its own for any guests who prefer a non-alcoholic drink, or pair it with a splash of Prosecco for those who want booze with their bubbles. Either way, it's perfect for any time you want to sip on something that feels a little extra special. 06 of 10 Organic Cinnamon Roll Ice Cream Sandwiches Courtesy of Whole Foods Continuing with the cinnamon roll theme, these ice cream sandwiches are a great way to welcome warmer months. Featuring a cinnamon-flavored ice cream sandwiched between two vanilla-flavored wafers, these skew more towards the "cinnamon" in cinnamon roll, and give you the same satisfaction of traditional cookies and creme ice cream sandwiches while feeling lighter. Plus, the wafers are significantly softer which means the first bite of these is a lot less likely to make your teeth scream. 07 of 10 Mango Yuzu Cake Courtesy of Whole Foods As a classic cake kinda girl (think chocolate or carrot) I was skeptical at first of this very fruity cake, but let me tell you, it is a hit. Featuring a velvety mango chantilly frosting and a wonderfully moist vanilla cake with yuzu curd and a perfectly light crumb, this cake tastes like a little tropical vacation. The best part: you can also get the experience in the form of cupcakes or parfaits if eating a whole 6-inch cake by yourself isn't your preferred approach. 08 of 10 365 by Whole Foods Market Birthday Cake Blondie Almondmilk Ice Cream Courtesy of Whole Foods Wow, that is a mouthful! And while there is a lot going on with this ice cream flavor, it still feels like a classic that takes you back to your childhood. Created by crowdsourcing ideas from Whole Foods fans, the treat features birthday cake blondie pieces from Greystone Bakery, sprinkles, and a non-dairy sweet cream base, all of which deliver on that classic funfetti cake taste. The almond milk works perfectly to counteract the sweetness of the cake for a festive vegan and dairy-free dessert to please just about any crowd. 09 of 10 Whole Foods Market Tomato Mozzarella Basil Quiche Courtesy of Whole Foods The breakfast theme continues with an actual breakfast item this time, and one that's an easy way to entertain with minimal effort. Filled with perfectly fluffy eggs, bright little bites of tomato, and gooey mozzarella cheese, this pre-made quiche will certainly wow your brunch crew but is also worth buying to help you become a breakfast person even on a busy weekday. 10 of 10 Ben & Jerry's S'mores Cookie Dough Mix Courtesy of Whole Foods Think of this dough mix as the flavor of s'mores and the convenience of trail mix coming together to create a winning dessert. A pouch filled with little graham cracker cookie dough balls and marshmallow truffles that you can easily pop in your mouth, this ice cream-less Ben & Jerry's treat lets you have the s'mores experience with — no fire or mosquitoes required.
