Cheese: It needs no introduction. What it does need is a place at your holiday party this year. It's the perfect snack to welcome guests into your home, alongside cocktails and wine, or as an appetizer before Christmas dinner, or you know what—let’s just replace that holiday ham with a giant cheese plate. Whole Foods wants to help you fulfill this cheese-filled fantasy with its new 12 Days of Cheese promotion.

From December 8 to 19, Whole Foods is offering 50 percent off (yes you read that discount right) of the following varieties of cheese:Cypress Grove Humboldt Fog, Herve Mons Epoisse, Bonne Bouche Vermont Creamery, Neal’s Yard Dairy Cheddar Montgomery’s, Rogue Creamery Organic Enraptured Blue, Herve Mons Gabietou, and Emmi Roth Organic Grand Cru Reserve, Rapin Le Marechal, Cellars at Jasper Hill Hartwell, Ubriaco del Piave, Uplands Cheese Pleasant Ridge Reserve, and Dutch Cheese Makers Truffle Gouda Klare Melk. Cathy Strange, Global Cheese Buyer for Whole Foods, hand picked the cheeses to spotlight for the sale. You can find the full list of cheeses paired with a wine recommended by the Whole Foods’ master sommelier Devon Broglie here.

There’s just one catch: each cheese will be 50 percent off for one day only, starting with the Cypress Grove Humboldt Fog on December 8, and ending with the Dutch Cheese Makers Truffle Gouda Klare Melk on the December 19. Then, like Cinderella’s carriage turning back into a pumpkin at midnight, once the day is done, the deal ends and the cheese in question goes back to its regular price. See your favorite on the list or hoping to try something new? You’ll only have one day to grab it. Or, if you want to stock up cheese for your next holiday party or family gathering, you could always return to Whole Foods each of the twelve days for the new cheese.
