When we wrote about Starbucks’ announcement that it would be wiggling its way into your office email, someone asked, with good reason, if it was an April Fool’s Day prank. Today we can tell you with certainty: It is not. Starbucks and Microsoft rolled out their add-in to Outlook that will let all us office drones work a little extra caffeine into our daily routines without using the Mr. Coffee that Doreen from ad sales was sneezing all over yesterday.

To get the add-in, Starbucks loyalists can click here to start the installation process. The software will add a “Meet at Starbucks” button to your email client so you can easily move whatever meeting you were planning for the conference room to nearest coffee shop. It will also provide a link to make it easy to order ahead and set automatic calendar reminders so you remember to do it. Finally, the extension will allow you to send Starbucks gift cards to anyone in your address book. The days of walking to a Starbucks to load up on inexpensive Christmas gifts for the office are over!

The add-in is free, but currently it isn’t available for Outlook Mobile or Outlook for Mac. Although, if your office is cool enough to use Macs you’re probably getting your coffee from Stumptown anyway.
