The French cookware company teamed up with Williams Sonoma to update several pieces in its beloved stoneware line with features that give home cooks a helping hand. Le Creuset redesigned the handles of its 3- and 4-quart casserole dishes, as well as its 9-inch loaf pan, making them extra-wide to fit thick pot holders and oven mitts. And while its covered casserole pieces previously had curved lid handles made of stoneware, the new versions will feature stainless-steel knobs. Both changes make the Le Creuset bakeware easier to grab and maneuver from storage to oven to tabletop. Courtesy of Le Cresuset While Le Creuset is best known for its colorful enameled cast iron, the brand's stoneware line is equally renowned by professionals and home cooks. It is made from a dense clay that is fired in a blazing hot kiln, resulting in a strong, stone-like material that can handle temperatures ranging from -9 degrees Fahrenheit to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. It also ensures incredible heat distribution. That means no more brownies with overdone edges and raw middles, and your lasagna will bake all the way through. For an extra layer of durability, the bakeware has a porcelain enamel-glaze finish. The coating not only protects pieces from scratches and stains, but gives the interiors a practically nonstick finish. You won't have to worry about chiseling out stuck cinnamon rolls, baked macaroni and cheese, or meatloaf. Plus they're dishwasher-safe for added convenience.
