Krispy Kreme and Reese's Team Up on a Truly Outrageous Doughnut
Keeping customers interested with a never-ending parade of limited time only doughnuts has basically become the entire Krispy Kreme business model, and this time around, the chain is back again with a familiar partner in crime: Reese’s.
Starting today, Krispy Kreme customers can keep an eye out for the new Reese’s Outrageous Doughnut. This latest collab with the peanut butter candy king “features a chocolate yeast dough, dipped in Hershey’s chocolate fudge icing, topped with mini Reese’s Pieces and drizzled with Reese’s peanut butter and salted caramel sauce,” the brand explains. “This doughnut creation is inspired by the Reese’s Outrageous Bar, which includes creamy Reese’s peanut butter, smooth caramel and crunchy Reese’s Pieces candy, all covered in rich milk chocolate.”
This new Reese’s Outrageous Doughnut is significantly different from last year’s Krispy Kreme Reese's Peanut Butter Doughnut which featured a Reese’s Peanut Butter Kreme filling, as well as the Reese’s Peanut Butter Egg Doughnut, released for a limited time only in March, which was basically the same thing but adorned with a bit of Easter color. This new Reese’s iteration is in a ring shape, meaning you won’t find any filling in the center (or anything other than air for that matter!), but that doesn’t mean there isn’t still plenty going on.
“This is hands down the most outrageous doughnut experience we’ve created!” CEO Mike Tattersfield said in a statement. “The Reese’s Outrageous Doughnut strikes a perfect balance of taste and texture sensations with an airy chocolate doughnut, gooey caramel and peanut butter drizzle, and classic crunch of Reese’s Pieces.”
As for how long Krispy Kreme fans will be able to hunt down this outrageous experience, well, the brand only says they’ll be around “for a limited time at participating Krispy Kreme shops in the United States and Canada.” Though if you know anything about Krispy Kreme, you probably could have already guessed that answer.
