On your mark. Get set. Bake!

We're just days away from a fresh batch of episodes of the U.K.'s hit reality cooking competition The Great British Baking Show. While quarantine has derailed so much of our lives, we heard inklings earlier this year that the producers were taking a "the show must go on" mentality, and those rumors that were further confirmed when production began in a bubble with safety measures in place for the cast and crew. The only question left was when we could expect to see season 11 in the United States.

Today, Netflix gave us the answer: Friday, September 25. As new episodes air "live," so to speak, in the United Kingdom beginning Tuesday, September 22, American audiences will get their fix the following Friday each week, the streaming service confirmed to Food & Wine.

As fans who follow the series will know, when the show made the leap from the BBC to Channel 4 in Britain in 2017, it also changed its American outlet from PBS to Netflix. And starting last year, the streaming service began dishing out new episodes to the U.S. just days after they premiered across the pond, a practice the streaming service has thankfully decided to continue this year.

However, this latest season will look a bit different than past years. As part of those aforementioned safety precautions, gone are judge Paul Hollywood's coveted "Hollywood Handshakes," typically doled out to the amateur baker contestants who wow the seasoned chef with their bread and pastries. But fans will also notice some less-subtle changes, including, namely, new comedian co-host Matt Lucas who will join Noel Fielding as Sandi Toksvig's replacement. Prue Leith returns as co-judge along with Hollywood.

And as anticipation ramps up for next week's premiere, Channel 4 has also released the names of this year's contestants. Check them out here.
