Now, in true Fleabag fashion, Waller-Bridge is looking to give back to that festival in the booziest way possible… with her own gin. Edinburgh Gin Scotland's Edinburgh Gin has teamed up with Phoebe Waller-Bridge to design a limited-edition bottle that "captures the wonder of Edinburgh through the lens of Fleabag," according to the spirits brand. "Every penny of profit will be donated to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival," Edinburgh Gin continues, "creating a new fund for artist talent and their craft." The hope is to raise over $200,000 through this "Edinburgh Gin Presents…" initiative. So what makes this gin so "Fleabag-y"? Though the liquid inside will simply be Edinburgh Gin's Classic London Dry, the limited-edition bottle's artwork — which was designed by Waller-Bridge — will be what sets it apart. Each one is "specially screen-printed" with a hand-drawn illustration of Phoebe looking into Edinburgh's night sky. The brand continues, "Amongst city streets, the spot-lit solitary chair she would use to perform on stage is painted on the glass, as well as the bittersweet exchange from Fleabag's final scenes: 'I Love You' is handwritten by Phoebe, whilst 'It'll Pass' has been penned by Andrew Scott, the iconic actor who played the character of Hot Priest, Fleabag's complicated love interest." "Gin and theatre are my two great loves. We wanted this bottle to capture a glimpse of Edinburgh in all her mystery and wonder, through the eyes of Fleabag who found her first home there," Waller-Bridge stated. "I hope every purchase inspires outrageous and creative conversations over ice while bringing the beloved Fringe festival back to life. It's important to add that Andrew Scott hand wrote a message on the bottle… if that isn't incentive enough to hunt one down and hold it against your cheek, I don't know what is." Edinburgh Gin says only "a few thousand" of these screen-printed bottles will be available to buy — with a price tag of £48 (or about $65.) They are slated to go on sale starting on July 20. However, since "demand is expected to be high," the gin company suggests people register in advance at edinburghgin.com/phoebe-waller-bridge to get exclusive access to the presale. The gin itself will be delivered in August to coincide with the Fringe Festival. Gin is an appropriate spirit, considering the TV series had previously helped put canned gin and tonics on the map, giving a sales boost to the Marks & Spencer brand "Gins in a Tin," a favorite of the aforementioned Hot Priest character.
