One comes in a completely edible flower pot.
While Disney Parks are known for going all out for the holidays. But beyond Christmas, Halloween, and self-made celebrations like Pixar Fest, you might be surprised to find out that amongst the rose gold treats and rainbow of churros available at the park, it'll even find an opportunity to honor Earth Day (April 22), along with the 20th anniversary of the opening of Disney's Animal Kingdom with some delicious-looking desserts. Taking a cue from going green, here are the plant-themed delights you'll find at Disney World's Earth Day celebration and Animal Kingdom's Party for the Planet this month.
Earth Day Cupcakes
This super-limited-edition item (above) is only available April 22. It's a chocolate cupcake layered with chocolate pastry cream, chocolate buttercream, and chocolate cookie crumble all nestled in an edible(!) chocolate flower pot. It's embellished with a flower and adorable Earth Day sign. This Earth Day cupcake is available at the Contempo Café located in Disney's Contemporary Resort.
Another limited-time Earth Day cupcake features chocolate cake, buttercream, crispy white chocolate pearls, white chocolate mousse and an edible chocolate decoration. It's available at Animal Kingdom's Pizzafari and Restaurantosaurus through May 5.
Yet one more Earth Day cupcake can be found in Disney's Wilderness Lodge at Roaring Fork. It's a chocolate cupcake filled with cookies and cream and finished with vanilla buttercream, cookies and cream crumble, chocolate rocks and an edible garden. It's on the menu from April 19-22.
At the same time, you can find this classic dirt and worms version, which is a chocolate cupcake filled with chocolate pudding and topped with buttercream, cookie crumble "dirt," a sugar flower, and gummy worms.
Tree of Life Cupcake
Paying tribute to the central feature of the Animal Kingdom park, the Tree of Life Cupcake starts with a vanilla cake base and adds buttercream, and edible chocolate decoration. This cupcake can be found at Animal Kingdom's Animal Kingdom's Creature Comforts and Flame Tree Barbecue through May 5.
Cactus Macarons on a Stick
At Disney Springs' Amorette's Patisserie, you can find this cute collection of three macarons decorated and skewered to look like a little cactus and filled with pistachio ganache. It's available from April 22 to 28.
In another nod to saving the planet, Animal Kingdom's Nomad Lounge and Restaurantosaurus will serve up the plant-based "bleeding" Impossible Burgers as sliders (with tomato chutney, smoked onion, and a side of yucca fries) and as a regular burger (with tomato and avocado).
