Food & Wine's Editorial Guidelines Published on September 8, 2020 Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: Coolhaus Last summer, the super-premium ice cream company Coolhaus collaborated with French's and gave us mustard ice cream, a golden and (spoiler alert) mustard-flavored limited-edition dessert that launched to celebrate National Mustard Day. Now they're about to debut another big brand collaboration, and instead of condiments, it involves crackers. Launching on Coolhaus' website September 9, Crackers & Cream is a collaboration between Coolhaus and Ritz, described on the package as "peanut butter ice cream marbled with a crispy Ritz Cracker swirl." The new flavor, per a product fact sheet, is Ritz's first ever ice cream collaboration, and just like the mustard ice cream, it's limited-edition. Ritz crackers and peanut butter aren't strangers—Ritz bits and Ritz Cracker Sandwiches both come in peanut butter-filled versions and who among us hasn't enjoyed the duo at home—so I was curious to see how the combination would translate to ice cream. In short, it definitely delivers. I had the chance to sample one of the pints late last week, and I'd happily enjoy one again. The peanut butter ice cream was smooth, creamy, and not too sweet, and the swirl of crumbled Ritz crackers added a buttery, salty flavor that paired with it perfectly. The cracker crumbs also retained some crunch despite sitting in the ice cream, which created a nice textural contrast. If you want to check out the collaboration yourself, it will officially launch on Coolhaus' website tomorrow at 8 a.m. ET, and will be available for nationwide shipping. Each pint will cost $12 and there's a six-pint minimum order on Coolhaus' website, but if you don't want all Crackers & Cream, there are plenty of other Coolhaus flavors to try. Ground shipping is included on "ice cream orders for eligible addresses," according to the site, and next day air delivery is "available for most addresses for only $29.95." Since Crackers & Cream is limited-edition, it will only stick around while supplies last, so act fast if you're interested. If you live in New York or Los Angeles, you also have the chance to win a free pint of Crackers & Cream—check out @gofooji on Twitter on September 10 for details. In addition to Coolhaus, there are plenty of other ice cream companies that will ship to your home, including Brooklyn-based Malai, St. Louis-based Clementine's Naughty & Nice Creamery, and Philadelphia's Bassetts, which is America's oldest ice cream shop, as previously reported by Food & Wine.
