Iconic New Orleans Restaurant Commander's Palace Is Now Shipping Nationwide
The restaurant, known for its haute Creole cuisine, has seen chefs like Paul Prudhomme and Emeril Lagasse pass through its kitchen, and Tory McPhail, executive chef since 2002, has received several nods from the James Beard Foundation. While you’d previously have to go straight to New Orleans to try the restaurant’s signature turtle soup, on May 4, the restaurant officially joined Goldbelly and started shipping nationwide.
On the Commander’s Palace hub, you’ll find the famous turtle soup, which has been on the menu since the restaurant's opening in 1893, available in two-quart quantities for $89—add two loaves of cheesy garlic bread, another Commander’s Palace signature, for an extra $20. You can also order a spiced sugarcane lacquered quail kit, which includes raw quail, bacon braised cabbage, and sugarcane molasses glaze, available in packages to serve two people ($99) and four people ($179). And for dessert, round it all out with pecan pie ($39), which can serve eight.

Also available in quantities that serve two ($179) or four ($299), the package has the garlic bread, soup, quail, bacon braised cabbage, sugarcane molasses glaze, and pecan pie. All packages come with step-by-step instructions for preparing each dish (or dishes), from defrosting to cooking. And if you have any leftovers, there are storage instructions, too.
In late March, Shake Shack also joined Goldbelly; however, instead of adding of a few of its signature menu items, the chain offers DIY ShackBurger kits, which include the key ingredients you need to make ShackBurgers at home. The kits come with eight servings of burger patties, eight Martin’s Potato Rolls, eight slices of American cheese, and the brand’s famous ShackSauce—all you need to provide is lettuce, tomato, salt, and pepper, along with some butter to toast the buns.
