News Two Cereals Based on Popular Dunkin' Drinks Are Coming Soon Dunkin's Caramel Macchiato and Mocha Latte are now in cereal form. Food & Wine's Editorial Guidelines Published on July 29, 2020 Share Tweet Pin Email Earlier this week, a Reddit user shared a picture of a food combination that was simultaneously hailed as one of the pinnacles of human achievement (well, somebody wrote "OMG yum!" which… close enough) and derided as being "a monstrosity" and "too far." The photo, which was posted on a subreddit for, uh, let's say “amateur-ish” food pics, showed a pizza crust that had been topped with a thick layer of Fruity Pebbles cereal and then drizzled with either vanilla icing or a sweet frosting. ("Yabba Dabba Don't," one of the top comments said). If you're interested in bringing this unorthodox combo into your own kitchen, you'll have to make it yourself—and you'll also have to brace for the possibility that your friends and family may be so disgusted, they'll refuse to speak to you for several days. But another cereal-based mashup promises to be more universally appealing, and more widely available too. On Tuesday, Post Consumer Brands and Dunkin' announced that they had collaborated on a pair of cereals based on two of Dunkin's most popular coffee drinks. Post Dunkin' Caramel Macchiato is a mix of sweet cereal and caramel-swirled marshmallows, while Post Dunkin' Mocha Latte combines chocolatey cereal and latte-flavored marshmallows. (And yes, both versions contain "very small amounts" of caffeine; Post says that it's the equivalent of 1/10 of a cup of coffee.) “Dunkin’ coffee is a daily ritual for Americans, and we’re excited to be partnering with them to indulge their fans’ coffee cravings," Josh Jans, Brand Manager of Cereal Partnerships at Post Consumer Brands, said in a statement. "Getting the flavor right on our new cereals was a top priority, and we think we’ve nailed the rich, smooth and creamy taste.” Dunkin' was equally as delighted by these new breakfast (or lunch, or dinner) offerings. "For our fans who already start their days with Dunkin’, this gives them another way to experience their favorite flavors,” Brian Gilbert, Dunkin's Vice President of Retail Business Development, said. “The Post Cereals team has done an excellent job of paying homage to the Caramel Macchiato and Mocha Latte with these new cereals. We can’t wait to see how customers enjoy them.” The Dunkin' cereals are expected to roll out to supermarkets in August. If you're really curious about when and where you can get your hands on one of those signature orange boxes, you can check product availability on the Dunkin' Cereal website. And if, for some reason, you decide to top a pizza with either flavor, it's probably for the best if you keep that information to yourself. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback!
