Food & Wine's Editorial Guidelines Published on January 28, 2020 Share Tweet Pin Email It's always exciting when Ben & Jerry's drops a new flavor—over the years, the ice cream company has come up with pints ranging from "The Tonight Dough" (inspired by Jimmy Fallon's late night talk show) to "Wavy Gravy," which has since been retired to the flavor graveyard. Today, the team announced not one, but three new flavors, and they're all non-dairy. However, instead of being made with almond milk or coconut milk as you'd expect, they're prepared with sunflower butter. The move makes Ben & Jerry's the first national brand to offer sunflower butter pints to the public. All three new flavors are certified vegan and kosher, marked with bright yellow lids and sunflower designs on the packaging. First up is "Milk" & Cookies, a non-dairy take of the classic Ben & Jerry's flavor made with vanilla ice cream (in this case, vanilla non-dairy frozen dessert), chocolate chip cookies, chocolate sandwich cookies, and chocolate cookie swirls. Mint Chocolate Cookie lovers will also be pleased to know that their favorite flavor has a non-dairy option, too, made with "mint non-dairy frozen dessert" and chocolate sandwich cookies. The third option, Crème Brûlée Cookie, takes burnt caramel non-dairy frozen dessert and mixes it with brown sugar cookies and salted caramel swirls. Courtesy of Ben & Jerry's The sunflower butter options are meant to be an alternative to Ben & Jerry's existing line of almond milk-based flavors, which range from Caramel Almond Brittle to Peanut Butter Half Baked. In total, the company now offers 17 non-dairy flavors, including Netflix & Chilll'd, a new flavor that launched earlier this month in collaboration with Netflix. It's available as either regular dairy or non-dairy (made with almond milk), and is inspired by the kind of snacks you'd reach for while watching your favorite show—a mix of salty and sweet. Thus, the pint includes peanut butter ice cream, sweet & salty pretzel swirls, and fudge brownies. All that's left to do is grab a spoon, and you're all set for a movie marathon. If you want to try any of the new flavors, they're available at grocery stores across the country now, as well as at Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shops. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback!
