Rapper, artist, and member of hip hop collective A$AP Mob, A$AP Ferg just dropped a new single with a little help from Hennessy. The Cognac brand has long been associated with hip hop music and has once again embraced that connection by teaming up with Ferg to launch a cocktail kit inspired by the rapper and accompanied by a limited-edition vinyl pressing of his new single “Family,” featuring album art that was painted by the artist himself. The single also appeared on A$AP Ferg’s Soundcloud account this morning.

The kit comes from Cocktail Courier, an online service that ships classic and original cocktail ingredients in complete packages directly to your door. To make the Hennessy Uptown, the cocktail inspired by A$AP Ferg, the $78 kit includes creme de cassis, cinnamon syrup, hibiscus tea, lemons, angostura bitters, chipotle powder, and a bottle of Hennessy, of course—in this case, it’s the brand’s V.S.O.P. Privilège Cognac. The kit, which will make eight drinks total, is available on the Cocktail Courier website and begins shipping Wednesday, January 17, however only the first 100 will include the limited-release record.

As for the artwork, Ferg explains his process in a new video uploaded to the Hennessy’s YouTube page, part of the brand’s “Never stop. Never settle,” campaign. The rapper has been drawing since he was a kid growing up in Harlem and describes creating artwork as keeping him “in a trance for hours.”

Previous projects from Hennessy have focused on artists and athletes like Nas, Canelo Álvarez, and Shepard Fairey.

A$AP Ferg, otherwise known as Darold D. Brown Ferguson, Jr., is best known for his work with A$AP Mob as well as his 2014 song (and, later, accompanying dance) "Dope Walk." His 2015 track "New Level" was certified gold, and his latest mixtape "Still Striving" was released in August of 2017.
