All of the Food- and Drink-Themed Advent Calendars You Can Find at Aldi This Year

The lineup includes a hard seltzer advent calendar, wine advent calendar, and more.

It's hard to believe that advent calendar season is already upon us (fall technically hasn't started yet, after all). But Bonne Maman has already released its jam advent calendar, Flaviar's Whiskies of the World Advent Calendar is available for pre-order, and now, Aldi has announced its 2020 advent calendar lineup, too—including a hard seltzer calendar and Irish country cream calendar, both brand-new.

The majority of the calendars will become available nationwide starting on November 4, which is going to be the "first annual 'National Advent Calendar Day,'" per the Advent Calendar FAQs section on Aldi's website, "a new celebration of the day the first ALDI Advent calendars go on sale each year (first Wednesday of November)." Two more calendars will trickle out on November 25, the Moser Roth 12 Days of Christmas Advent Calendar and aforementioned O'Donnells 12 Days of Irish Country Cream Calendar (which includes flavors such as Hazelnut and Tiramisu, according to a representative for the brand). And on December 2, you can expect the Sparkling Countdown to the New Year, which features sparkling wine.

As for the Vista Bay Hard Seltzer Advent Calendar? It'll launch on November 4 with the bulk of the calendars, and offers 12 flavors with a total of 24 cans (so two cans of each variety)—examples of flavors include Black Cherry, Tangy Lemon, Passionfruit, Ruby Grapefruit, and Coconut Mango. If hard seltzer's not your thing, you can always spring for the wine or beer calendar instead.

The calendars and countdowns will be available in-store only. If you're planning on picking up one of the wine, beer, or hard seltzer versions, know that not all Aldi locations will have them, since some states and municipalities don't permit grocery stores to sell alcohol.
