4 Easy Ways to Upgrade Your Mayo
This piece originally appeared on PureWow.
Turkey-lettuce-mayo for lunch gets a little tired day in and day out. But spicing up your mayo with an ingredient or two can transform the condiment from basic to holy-wow. Here, four recipes that will blow your mind--and taste pretty good, too.
CHIPOTLE MAYO
If you like something with a kick, mix 1 to 2 tablespoons of canned chipotle in adobo sauce into your regular mayonnaise. Done.
MEYER LEMON MAYO
An egg, a couple cloves of garlic, the juice from one lemon--that's about all you’ll need to whip up this zesty spread from scratch. (Did we mention it tastes great with fries?)
AIOLI MAYO
Blend crushed garlic and chopped herbs (dill! rosemary! basil!) into mayo for a restaurant-quality spread.
AVOCADO MAYO
OK, so this one’s a mayo substitute, but avocados (plus garlic, mustard and lemon juice) are involved. Yum.
