Seth Rogen's Sausage Party Is the Anti 'Toy Story'
If you think about it, every naturally occurring food item we eat was, at one time or another, alive. Just not quite like this. Sausage Party is the new animated movie from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, starring Kristen Wiig, James Franco, Jonah Hill and Paul Rudd amongst others, that takes a look at the secret lives of our food and how most of it meets a tragic end in our stomachs. Unlike other movies about anthropomorphized items in our lives—your Cars, your Toy Storys, Sausage Party is a decidedly darker look at what it means to be an inanimate object. Eating children that take the form of baby carrots may be funny, but chowing down on toddlers is certainly a bit of troubling concept.
But from the looks of the trailer, the food is a mission to defeat its human captors, dropping plenty of f-bombs as they go.
For anyone sick of the sappy story lines that go along with most animated movies, you can catch Sausage Party when it premieres on August 12.
