Even as more and more people receive the COVID vaccine, we know that masks aren't going anywhere. In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated its mask recommendations last week: To truly protect yourself from more contagious coronavirus variants, you should either double-mask or wear a high-filtrating option.
Fortunately, if you're looking to stock up on new masks, one of our favorite brands has put its entire collection on sale. Starting today, you can get 20% off Hedley & Bennett face masks, including the company's limited-edition artist series.
Known for its chef-loved aprons, Hedley & Bennett started producing its last spring so that limited PPE could be reserved for frontline workers. Made from lightweight washable fabric, the masks aren't medical-grade. However, they were developed with pediatric orthopedic surgeon Dr. Robert Cho to include extra protections from the virus, like a pocket for disposable filters. (Hedley & Bennett also worked with Think Crucial, a direct-to-consumer brand specializing in affordable versions of things that occasionally need replacing around the house, to design three-ply pre-cut filters out of HEPA vacuum cleaner bags.)
They're also attractive, which feels important when half your face is covered up. The one-size-fits-most masks come in solid colors, like dark blue chambray and red oxford, as well as special artist collaborations. The latest design is from Shirien Damra, a Palestinian illustrator based in Chicago, whose powerful portraits of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor took over Instagram last year. Best of all, through its "Buy 1, Give 1" deal, Hedley & Bennett has donated more than 350,000 masks to restaurant workers, farmers, and healthcare workers since March.
The sale ends Thursday, February 18, but popular colors will likely sell out before then. Check out a few of our favorite marked-down masks below, or head to Hedley & Bennett's site to see the full selection for yourself.
