This week F&W’s Justin Chapple revealed the super-easy way to peel a kiwi with a spoon, ridding you forever of the delicious fruit’s hairy, awful skin. Of course, you can only have so many kiwis. Here, a few more great tips that will make your fruit eating easier and more delicious.

Use a curved paring knife for expert quartering. F&W Best New Chef 2007 April Bloomfield swears by curved paring knives. “They’re perfect for trimming something in your hand, like if you need to quarter an apple.”

Juice your own pomegranates. Cookbook author and chef Maria Helm Sinskey uses fresh pomegranate juice in whiskey cocktails. “It’s so easy to juice one,” she says. “Cut it in half and squeeze it on an electric juicer, like an orange. Let the sediment settle, then pour the juice off.”

Fry your fruit. One of the best things about fruit is its health factor, but sometimes it’s okay to sacrifice that for the sake of flavor. Baker Gale Gand likes to coat bananas or apples in panko bread crumbs and deep-fry them for a delicious and easy dessert.

Turn mangoes inside out. Mangoes can be slippery and difficult to cut. For easy access to the fruit, slice it in half on either side of the pit and score each half in a deep crosshatch pattern. Then fold the fruit out so that the mango cubes pop.
