Amateur and professional photographers alike are snapping memorable photos from airplane windows.

Whether flying over the ocean, catching a glimpse of Mt. Fuji, or getting a birds-eye view of Dubai, aerial photography has a special allure for those who spend most of their time on the ground.

While landing in the Maldives or flying over Alaska’s Denali National Park will always be beautiful, these photographers have found beauty even in unlikely places—like New York City’s demonstrably un-photogenic La Guardia Airport.

Next time you book a flight, do your Instagram a favor and remember to get a window seat.
