Here’s something you didn’t know about the beloved Cronut inventor: In addition to creating pastries that people will wait in line hours to get and winning the 2014 James Beard Award for outstanding pastry chef, Dominique Ansel is an expert gamer. As a boy in France, he spent an entire month doing nothing but playing video games. As the years passed, Ansel continued to hone his skills on Atari, Nintendo and Xbox, and will dominate a round of Fruit Ninja.

We had to devise a way to mesh two of his greatest skills. Enter the new  baking simulator. While we tried and failed for hours to make a virtual cake with the game, Ansel is a professional. Within minutes of sitting down for a test run, he was cracking 2-D eggs and pouring pixelated flour. If he ever decides to stop baking, we’re sure they would take him on the professional video game circuit. Until then, watch the master at work.
