When you think about relaxing activities it almost certainly involves something like this. It almost certainly does not involve pounding hot steel with a hammer. And yet there is something oddly meditative about this video of Polish knife maker Michael Sielicki forging and shaping a knife out of an old wrench. Sielicki says he’s just a hobbyist who does this all for the love of knife making. But for an amateur he’s gotten quite adept. He’s made everything from chef’s knives to santokus to camping knives. And while he doesn’t have an official store, he might sell you one if you shoot him an email. Otherwise just sit back and watch a craftsman at work.
