Why is that filing cabinet on fire? Because it's smoking chicken wings, of course. Joshua McIntyre, from Holly Springs, Mississippi, turned a regular old filing cabinet into a totally functional barbecue smoker. The drawers of the filing cabinet each make up a different tier of the smoker, so you could, if you wanted, cook different dishes at once, each in its own drawer. Basically, it's the most office-friendly way to cook yourself up some fresh barbecue.
So how does a rusty old file cabinet become the source of such meaty deliciousness? McIntyre removed the bottoms of the drawer and replaced them with grates on which to place the meats. The bottom drawer houses a tray full of live coals, and the second-to-bottom drawer contains a pan of water. With the combination of the two, steam can move easily up through the grates of the drawers and fill the whole unit.
McIntyre uses his unit to cook racks of ribs, chicken wings, and even a whole chicken, but there's no need to stop there. You could use it to make smoked cheeses, smoked turkey, hot-smoked salmon, and so much more. Of course, you probably don't actually want to bring this bad boy into work. The unit it is indeed a smoker, so, as is to be expected, it produces a lot of smoke.
The video of this smoker in action now has over 600 reactions on Facebook, about 200 comments, and a whopping 3,800+ shares. You can check it out here. Scroll through the comments to see tons of other filing cabinet smokers inspired by McIntyre's handiwork.
