Flip flops: They are great for pedicures or a day at the beach – but we’d never consider acceptable formalwear or remotely elegant. And yet, one restaurant in German is thinking they should eat off of them.
Falco, a high-end Michelin-starred restaurant located in Leipzig, Germany, is serving a chocolate-covered raspberry sorbet atop a Havaiana as part of their dessert course.
Is eating off footwear a weird choice? Certainly. Although, in an era where food is being served on arbitrary objects ranging from shopping carts,
to corn embedded with skewers of screws,
we’re not all that surprised by this development. However, we’re curious what the move will be after the flip flop dessert.
Boot soup, anyone?
