  • Elizabeth Theriot is the Food Commerce Methodology Writer in the Birmingham Food Lab. 
  • In this role, Elizabeth uses her experience as a writer and educator to develop testing methodologies and attribute rubrics for all manner of kitchen products. 
  • Before joining Dotdash Meredith, she worked in fine-dining as a host and events coordinator. 


Elizabeth has a background in writing, education, and nonprofit work. Before joining Dotdash Meredith in August 2022, Elizabeth was Lead Host and Events Coordinator at the James Beard Award-winning restaurant Automatic Seafood and Oysters. Elizabeth holds an M.F.A in Creative Writing from the University of Alabama and has been published in literary journals, led writing workshops for children and adults, taught at multiple universities, worked as an editor, planned events, and managed social media accounts for businesses and nonprofits. A Louisiana native, Elizabeth has a passion for great food, regional culinary traditions, and sustainability. When she isn’t developing product tests, you can find Elizabeth teaching community workshops, revising manuscripts, and hanging out with her cats.


Elizabeth holds an M.F.A in Creative Writing from the University of Alabama.
