Not that I’ve ever tried, but my guess is that if you want to become a US Supreme Court Justice, you have to live a pretty clean-cut life – minus a few pubic hair jokes here and there. (That’s right, Clarence Thomas; I remember!) Maybe that explains why Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg has decided to wait until her 80s to start bragging about her drinking.

As you may recall, at the 2015 State of the Union Address, Ginsburg made headlines by falling asleep during President Obama’s speech. At the time, she presented a very honest answer as to what happened, stating that she “wasn’t 100 percent sober.” “Justice Kennedy brought in … it was an Opus something or other, very fine California wine that Justice Kennedy brought,” she explained.

Seriously, Ginsburg? “Opus something.” That’s like me bragging that I was hanging out with my buddy “Kanye something.” If you’re going to brag about how expensive the wine you drink is, just go with it. You’re one of the most powerful people in the country! And maybe you’ll get a free bottle or two out of the plug.

But apparently Justice Ginsburg wasn’t through casually tossing around references to how she only drinks the finest Napa Valley reds. On Wednesday, during a discussion about the Supreme Court’s food culture at the National Museum of American History, the infamous sleeping incident came up and the now 83-year-old justice name-dropped her favorite vino again. “One year, Justice Kennedy came with a couple of bottles of Opus One from California,” Ginsburg was quoted as saying. “That was the first time I fell asleep during the State of the Union.”

Alright, at least she was confident enough to land her wine plug properly this time. But once again, Ginsburg is being a bit coy. “One year”? We all know what year you’re talking about.

For the record, Opus One told The Washington Post they didn’t send Ginsburg any free bottles after her last plug. Maybe she’s thinking second time is the charm.
