After a night on the line, most chefs have a go-to drink, from cheap beer to a house bartender’s expert cocktail. Here, star chefs reveal their favorite drinks.

Chef David Baruthio of Baru 66, in Windsor Heights, Iowa, isn’t much of a beer drinker. But there is a beer producer he keeps on tap at his restaurant as frequently as possible because it is part of his origin story: Fischer, an Alsace brewery that makes German-style beers. “It’s nostalgic,” he says. “When my mom gave birth to me in Strasbourg, France, from her window in the hospital she had a view of the brewery.”
