Stanley Lobel Location: New York, New York Stanley Lobel is a fifth-generation master butcher and the president of M. Lobel & Sons, Inc., renowned for its high-quality beef. He has co-authored several books on beef, most notably Lobel’s Meat Bible (2009). With decades of expertise, Lobel has appeared on numerous television and radio talk shows, written columns for Gannett newspapers and the New York Post, and taught seminars at The Culinary Institute of America. Experience Stanley Lobel knew from an early age that he would go into the family business, which can be traced back to the 1840s in Austria. He has spent most of his life working in the famed Madison Ave. butcher shop, Lobel's Prime Meats, started by his grandfather in 1954. His passion for the craft of butchery and commitment to his family’s legacy is the driving force behind the longevity of Lobel’s. Stanley has served as a contributing editor at Saveur, a trustee on the Board of The National Cattlemen’s Foundation, and a fellow of The Culinary Institute of America. He also holds numerous patents related to meat extraction and aging.
