Sara Ventiera

Sara Ventiera is a freelance journalist who covers food trends, international cuisine, travel, lifestyle, and real estate. In addition to Food & Wine, her work has appeared in such publications as Eating Well, BBC Travel, Vice Munchies, Travel + Leisure, and Sara is also a senior cities editor at Thrillist focused on the United States South.


Roaming gastronome and world traveler Sara Ventiera’s early adventures backpacking took her from Northern Thailand to Western Australia, eventually landing in Miami where she became a professional cook and sommelier aboard various yachts in the area. She got into food writing for the Broward Palm Beach New Times, reporting on the dining scene and events like the Palm Beach Food and Wine Festival. For the past decade, Ventiera has contributed to the Village Voice, Zagat, Hemispheres, Food Network, and others. When she's not on the road, Sara splits her time between Los Angeles and Brooklyn.  


Sara Ventiera holds a bachelor of communications degree from Florida Atlantic University and an Intermediate Level Sommelier Certificate.
