Kenny Rochford

Scottish-born Kenny Rochford co-founded upstart California wine company John Curtis + Sons focused on producing high-quality wine for cans and supporting the environment. He has over two decades of experience working in California wineries such as Medlock Ames, CIRQ Estates, and Kosta Brown.

Experience

Kenny has been involved with wine since his college days in Scotland when he worked at a fine wine shop. He moved to Sonoma wine country where he held positions in wine production, marketing, and management.

Kenny was general manager at the esteemed Alexander Valley winery Medlock Ames, known for its progressive farming practices. The winery's community gardening program, which encouraged employees to participate and take vegetables home weekly, fueled Kenny's love of cooking and preserving. He channeled his passion for pickling and marmalades into a non-profit organization called School Garden Preserves which raised funds to support Sonoma school gardens through the sale of preserves.

His interest in also preserving the environment inspired Kenny to team up with fellow oenophile Matt Allan to launch the premium wine company John Curtis + Sons, aimed at producing high-quality non-vintage wine with a blend of grapes sourced from different West Coast regions, packaged in stylish eco-friendly cans under the label West + Wilder. True to their ethos, John Curtis + Sons support conservation efforts through a partnership with 1% for the Planet.

Education

Kenny holds a master's in ancient history and classical art and archaeology from The University of Edinburgh and a master's in information technology from the University of Stirling.
