Jill Giacomini Basch

Jill is a co–founder and current CMO of Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company and The Fork, a culinary education center. Having grown up on a dairy farm and spent time in advertising in Silicon Valley, she is uniquely qualified to help educate the masses on sustainable agriculture and artisan cheesemaking.

Experience

In 1904, Jill Giacomini Basch's great grandfather left northern Italy to pursue farming in California; more than a century later, Jill and two of her sisters continued their family's legacy by co-founding Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company on their parents' dairy farm. For close to 24 years, Jill has used her background in Silicon Valley advertising as the artisan cheese company's CMO, and in 2010 helped launch The Fork, a culinary education center that offers farm tours, cooking classes, and private events. Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese has been awarded The Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) certification, as well as a number of domestic and international cheesemaking prizes; in 2022, its TomaTruffle won best semi-soft flavored cheese at the World Championship Cheese Contest in Madison, Wisconsin.

Education

Jill studied at the University of the Pacific's Eberhardt School of Business. Before becoming CMO of her family's cheese company, she worked in marketing and advertising in Silicon Valley.
