Jen writes about travel, food, and adventure from a village in the mountains of northern Vermont.

Experience: Before becoming a journalist, Jen Rose Smith spent a decade working in pastry kitchens — she is the former owner of The Nomadic Oven, a Vermont bakery specializing in travel-inspired pastries. Jen's travel writing has been anthologized and widely published, with stories in National Geographic, the Washington Post, CNN, the BBC and other outlets. She's the author of six travel guidebooks covering Vermont and New England.

She has written for Food & Wine since 2021.
