Jason Travi

Jason Travi is the former chef of Los Angeles hot spots Fraiche, Riva, littlefork, and Superba Food & Bread. He cut his teeth in the kitchens of Wolfgang Puck's Granita and the iconic Spago and later opened La Terza with Chef Gino Angelini. Travi was also executive chef at Amazon in Seattle and is currently the senior director of development at Freshly. 


Jason Travi is a third-generation chef who began his professional culinary career in his teens, manning the stoves at his father and uncle's American Italian restaurant in the South Shore area of Massachusetts. Following culinary school, he landed in Los Angeles where he worked in the kitchens of Wolfgang Puck's Granita and Spago, rising to the position of sous chef. At La Terza, Chef Gino Angelini schooled Travi on the subtle nuances of regional Italian cuisines. Angelini even sent Jason to work in a salumeria near Zibello, Italy, to learn the craft of charcuterie. When he returned to Los Angeles, Travi opened the Italian-French restaurant Fraiche, and then the pizza-focused Riva in Santa Monica. The chef took a different approach with littlefork, focusing on what he called an "Atlantic Northeast" menu, featuring East Coast seafood and smoked meat dishes like slow-cooked brisket. After helming both littlefork and Superba Food & Bread, Travi left Los Angeles and moved to Seattle to work for Amazon. In 2021, he returned to the East Coast to take over innovation and product development at Freshly. 


Jason Travi graduated from the Culinary Institute of America.
