Darralynn Hutson is a Detroit-based multimedia freelance journalist and content creator. She focuses on telling stories centered around African American culture. Darralynn covers food, travel, restaurants, business, lifestyle, entertainment, fashion, and beauty. She contributes to Condé Nast, Travel + Leisure, Essence, and others.


For over 25 years, Darralynn Hutson has been creating dynamic content for a diversity of outlets. She produced digital editorials about Black entertainers and entrepreneurs for urban media company Rolling Out and interactive content for financial publication Black Enterprise. Darralynn curated Detroit-based lifestyle articles as managing editor of Sensi Magazine. She covers fashion and beauty for Essence and Vogue. Darralynn contributes food, travel, and culture pieces to Food & Wine and Travel + Leisure. In 2016, she founded TheStyleSuite, a digital networking platform to support and nurture Black and Brown storytellers. Its online community has grown to over 1,000 people, from writers, editors, and stylists, to magazine enthusiasts.


Darralynn attended Spelman College in Atlanta, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English and communications.
