Carson Demmond

Carson Demmond is a former sommelier and freelance writer based in Atlanta. Her bylines have appeared in Decanter, Vogue, Wine & Spirits, Fortune, Wine Enthusiast, PUNCH, and others. She was an associate wine editor at Food & Wine and wrote the "One Case Wonder" and "Decantress Wine Advice" columns.

Experience

Carson Demmond got her start in the wine game working in restaurants like Bacchanalia in Atlanta, going to vineyards, and reading her fill of wine literature. She moved to New York City and took on the position of sommelier at The Modern, then later served as Tasting Director at Wine & Spirits Magazine, where she began writing feature articles. Carson spent two years directing Bordeaux wine education at Duclot La Vinicole before joining Food & Wine. She has since returned to her native Georgia and works at the Rive Gauche Wine Company.

Education

Carson graduated suma cum laude from Skidmore College with a bachelor of arts in French literature.
